It would be pretty neat to have an entire meeting's worth of short
presentations on different backup strategies, especially if they cover the
spectrum of different approaches and levels of sophistication and
complexity.

I have similar problems, getting even more similar since I am starting to
get other machines on my home network running with data I care about.  I
may have to go to a combination of rsync and mondo or something to back up
the whole network.
