Or both. :)

I think all of those are better than the present situation where anyone on the
Internet can do a search on any one of us and get all kinds of info such as
incorrect answers to Linux questions, etc., given by us. Who on this list
actually wants that?

A passwd protected list at least stops the spiders and robots in their tracks.
A member only thingy is even better because it forces folks to join first
before they can read what we wrote. I would be fully supportive of that. :)
