(I'm sorry if I made you sneeze milk all over your keyboard with that
understatement...)

that's the funny thing -- I checked on my account, and it looks like I
"registered" with them in January of 2003 -- as I recall, at the time
anyone could start a meeting "for free", so apparently greed won out
this round
[whups, there goes the milk again -- shoulda warned you to set it down
first...]
in fact, I'm pretty sure I did try to set up a meeting, and as I would
have been unemployed at the time, I certainly wasn't going to shell out
$$$ to tell other people I was willing to talk about linux... As I
recall, the projected turnout was for two other people, and they were
both no-shows...
Ironically, when you set up a meeting, there is apparently a "checkbox"
you can select to "post your meeting information on the highly popular
free social bulletin board known as Craigslist" (well, they didn't word
it quite that way, but close...) as well as getting an announcement out
to local TV stations and newspapers (with the idea of getting a camera
crew to your "meetup" and/or a reporter to interview some folks -- talk
about a slow news night...)
