[SGVLUG] cdrecord with a ide toshiba dvd writer and kernel 2.6.15

I am trying to burn a FC 5 iso to dvd, but  I get failures early but 
irratically into the burn process. I don't know how to interpret the 
error info from cdrecord. sure would appreciate a little guidance from 
anyone familiar with cdrecord.
