It doesn't need to be affirmed.  The mere fact that you are neither a
slave nor a master by right of main force is because a government has
protected you.

And thus the bitter irony of the anarchist--only under the rule of law,
enforced by a government is he free to express his wish to do away with
all governments and safe enough in person and property to have time t
worry about something besides survival.  Anarchy is a hobby for those
who live under reasonable governments.  Those who have actually
experienced anarchy are invariably it's most determined opponents.

It's kind of like communism that way.
