IIRC they were using OCaml for hardware detection in the initrd and are
starting to use Haskell for the build system they are developing. I
agree that the unix init scripts are in desperate need of rewriting, but
I don't think they're tackling that. (Part of the problem is that it's
been tackled many times with no clear concensus about a winner.)
