If this weren't a "family" oriented/acceptable forum, I'd probably have
some really strong words to say about "Nina" -- since she
"surreptitiously obtained" Russian citizenship for their son just a
couple of months prior, I get the impression she had "plans" to kidnap
him and take up residence in Russia [yeah, I know -- sounds funny to
talk about her "kidnapping" not only her own child, but one in which she
had custody.  However, by moving to Russia, this would effectively
deprive Hans of "visitation rights", or at best make it "rather
difficult or costly" to pursue.  Kidnapping might not be the right term,
but it's the closest I can think of for this scenario]

Maybe I'm reading more into it from the descriptions and articles
posted, but I'm getting the "impression" she may have been a "mail order
bride" (or at least thought of herself that way)  Once she had what she
needed from "the states" [citizenship and/or a good education] she was
gonna head back to Russia and leave Hans in the dust.  Then again, it
may just be the fact that there hasn't been a "positive" report or
article about her that colors my view...

As for Hans, I've only met him in person one time -- when he gave a
presentation at SGVLUG -- so it's hard for me to pass any judgment yea
or nay on this issue.  I do continue to use ReiserFS on all my linux
machines, but that is mainly due to laziness -- I'd have to actually
backup/reformat/restore everything to do this...  (though when I next
/install/ Linux somewhere, I suspect "Reiser" won't be a default anymore...)
