According to http://www.expita.com/nomime.html "Microsoft TNEF data
(WINMAIL.DAT attachments) ... may include links to OLE objects, fonts,
colors, and other information that doesn't have the same form or
meaning outside a Microsoft operating environment".

So, why is this being included in mail to a mailing list, especially
to a Linux mailing list?

Incidentally, that same URL explains how to turn off tnet emissions.

Open-source TeX is a world-class typesetting system that can be used
to prepare and transmit beautiful documents, if that is the intention.
