No, the command is usually,
# date -s MMDDhhmm.ss
which looks something like this for now
# date -s 03121414.33
or
# date 03121414.33
(March 12 2:14:33pm)
Or easier,
# date -s '+1 hours'
(I'm not positive of this last one, it something like that).
And remember when you do update your timezones packages, your time may change.
