Hi!
well, having attended a significant part
of the ITexpo in the last 2 days I had
a couple of interesting items to share.
A number of significant security issues
remains with Internet Telephony, however
the cost savings is driving increased use.
Likewise reliabilities issues remain
(recall recent Skype outage due to MS
update service causing DDOS attack
against Skype user registration.)

[ some question why this didn't happen
[ before this time ...
SIP - use is picking up, but still not
as much as is desired.

Asterisk CEO Mark Spensor mentioned at a keynote
various "fake open source" products out there taking
Asterisk GPL code and adding proprietary code.
He wasn't happy about some of the situations.
While he didn't mention the companies, I saw
a number on the floor which could have been
the ones he referred to.
Asterisk, Trixbox
interestingly, I was wondering what is up
with the relationship between the 2...
So far, it seems like there is a bit of
a potential fork from the reading I have
been doing (I am still introducing myself
to the issues)
here's a couple of interesting reads
