My understanding, the educational model of the Eee Pc is supposed to be
$199, but not available to the general public. The better models step
up at $399 and $499 for the slightly larger machine capacities. I
wonder if that isn't a typo, because the entry price point was $199.

At CES, Asus announced new eee PC's with 7", 8" and 8.9." I didn't see
any prices mentioned, but is supposed to be more than the current
models. Engadget shows a picture of what it calls a WiMAX-enabled Eee
PC. They said no price was announced.

PC Magazine said, "To accelerate broad adoption, Asus will maintain an
entry price point of $999 for WiMAx ready laptops, although expect the
eeePC to run higher than the previous $300-$400 entry point."

I don't understand whether this means the WiMAX-enabled eeePC will cost
$999 or whether it will be less than that.
