While humorous in a monty python way,
I don't think of those as idle/inactive
senarios. ( and yes, I do enjoy that
twisted sense of humor from Solomon. )

unfortunately, we make a lot of bad laws,
however it appears to me that we can not
trust societies long term interested to
prevail against corporations/individuals 
short term profits/gains, and it seems that
laws are the only way to force corporations
AND consumers to behave better.

( i.e. the big 3 auto makers.. making massive
gas sucking SUVs didn't care enough to compete
against the japanese on hybrids... now wants
a bailout to save themselves ... while I
am happy gas prices are down, I am sad that
the focus of reducing oil consumption will
go out the window.. :(
