Windows/Linux Server Support Analyst
50% of this position's time will be spent supporting the physical server
infrastructure associated with the Company's IP Telephony systems. The
remainder of position's time will be providing depth and backfill for
support of the Company's E-mail and Instant Messaging environments.
Responsibilities:
- This position will provide 2nd level operational support and expertise for
Server components associated with the Company's IP Telephony infrastructure.
- Functions of this position include technical expertise/support with
physical server builds, monitoring, maintenance software patching while
adhering to a well defined change control and implementation methodology. -
Development and maintenance of documentation to support the environment is
also key to the success of this position.
- Additionally, this position will provide 2nd level support as required to
augment the activities of the staff supporting the Company’s E-mail and
Instant Messaging infrastructure.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline or
equivalent experience.
Directly related experience in computer and communications technology.
Specific technical experience should include experience with Microsoft
Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007,
Microsoft LCS/OCS and BlackBerry Enterprise Server in a 5,000+ user
environment on a HP server platform.
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policies, Good Wireless Technology,
SQL, SANs, clones and data replication is also beneficial for this position.
- Strong technical abilities.
- Dedicated team player.
- Proven problem solving and decision making skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information.
- Strong analytical and coordination skills.
- Contributes to the development and recommendation of standards and
guidelines
- Participates in Disaster Recovery support activities
- Some nights and weekends are required
