Hey folks,
I just noticed that Jaunty's update-notifier has what looks like
a bug: it gets confused when the system rolls the logs
in /var/logs, and doesn't show nonsecurity updates for
the next week.  Since the logs are rolled weekly, this
means users might not see any update notifications
at all until the next security update.

If you're running Ubuntu 9.04 or higher of any flavor,
could you have a look at
  http://kegel.com/linux/ubuntu-autoupdate-diagnostic-pl.txt
and run it (e.g.
  wget http://kegel.com/linux/ubuntu-autoupdate-diagnostic-pl.txt
  perl ubuntu-autoupdate-diagnostic-pl.txt
) and email me with the output?

Don't run it until you read it.  After all, I could be
a wolf in sheep's clothing...
