 For what it's worth...

I've created a google calendar as (yet another) alternative to our main
site (I've also linked it in to the site, and will probably remove the
old calendar "applet" if this looks like this one works better for our
purposes)

Since it is a google calendar, there are public feeds available:

http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/0cpbke0ssk4koket0kkdtpnnvc%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

xml/rss feed:
http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/0cpbke0ssk4koket0kkdtpnnvc%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic

At the very least, it will show our regularly scheduled meetings, even
if we don't update the content for a specific meeting.
