Ah, so maybe *that's* the problem: I've got dry loop DSL, no pstn # on 
it, something speakeasy was selling many years ago.

So, I add an analog pstn line (I happen to have a # I can port) and get 
uverse over that...maybe I'll give it a try. Btw, I only want access 
bandwidth, not uverse TV.
