There is a Hackathon going on this weekend in Irvine:

It is at the Eureka building in Irvine, CA, a 3 acre commercial startup
co-working space and they are going to be launching 48 crowd funding
campaigns in 48 hours. There are already 250+ registered attendees.
Meals etc will be provided. 

This appears to be a software only Hackathon, but is very open ended.
The goal is to create a crowd funding campaign within the span of the
event. Sign up with your own team or go there and form a team at the
event.
