Thanks Dan: Back when I had an AT&T DSL I was running "ppoe" but obviously switched to a gateway when Uverse arrived, but I don't even remember where you switch among those protocalls? I suppose I might setup alpine to eventually read the TWC mailbox, as a backup for another shell account. Thanks again Hart
