[SGVLUG] Please RSVP for next SGVLUG meeting "Cloud-based Architecture for Processing 3D Mars Terrain"

Hi Matt,

The SGVLUG meetup is quite unlike other Meetups in that the turnout often exceeds the number of RSVPs, even when some of the RSVPs don't end up showing. That's because we normally have an open door policy and people just show up to meetings without seeing a need to RSVP. I try to accommodate this by keeping a list of people who I know are attending the event, or who may attend the event. This is in addition the list I export from Meetup.

I believe the room at OpenX, in that configuration, maxes out at 70 people. We ended up with 50-60 people last time, and that was given less than 1 week to RSVP.

There is currently 2-3 weeks to RSVP, so there is a greater likelihood of hitting our limit before the deadline. I'm setting a lower RSVP limit, so I will be able to accommodate our regulars and folks from the Ubuntu Hour, who automatically come to LUG after their meeting is over. (Also, anyone from OpenX is welcome to drop by our meeting, whether they RSVP or not.)

Good evening Lan,

Please accept this as an RSVP request for next month's SGVLUG meeting.

I am curious, what were you uncomfortable with last meeting that has
prompted you to set an event limit? It seemed to run very smoothly
and I thought the crowd and conversation were very well managed.

Matt

He's a pretty good speaker and the topic is cool, whether you're into cloud computing (or Jenkins, Amazon Web Services, or Ansible), or you're interested in learning more about augmented or virtual reality and how it is used on Mars missions.
