Hi all,
I am using Google Doc to keep track of the Space Apps challenge. Feel free to bookmark or pass the link around.

Registration is by individuals and done via the Space Apps site. Register early; they can only accommodate so many people at Cross Campus.
Pasadena was chosen as the main stage for the NASA Space Apps Challenge. JPL has a larger involvement this year and NASA will be doing their press conference and live streaming from here.
NASA has a data bootcamp the day before the hackathon. This also requires registering through Space Apps site.
"The Data Bootcamp is meant to broaden the base of hackathon participants and bring an even greater diversity of skills and perspectives—particularly from women and girls—to address challenges on Earth and in space."

Subject: [SGVLUG] NASA Space Apps Challenge kickoff meeting this Thursday @ 5:30pm
Hi all,
The NASA Space Apps Challenge is an international hackathon for Apr 22-24 to solve challenges relating to space flight and life here on Earth. You can participate virtually or through a local hackathon
https://2016.spaceappschallenge.org/
If you are interested in the local hackathon, you should join the Meetup group and participate in one of the kickoff meetings. The first one is this Thursday from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at the Hackaday Design Lab. As you can see, it is a pretty full agenda, and there will be a lot of presentations.

There is a second one at Carnegie Observatories in Pasadena on Tuesday, April 12th, which will be a more detailed look at the tools that are available and hook you up with mentors from JPL
